First Fathers Tobacco--A Brief History
The idea seemed obvious at first--a roll your own tobacco wrap made from a real tobacco leaf. It was something we expected in the industry, an idea we took for granted. When we discovered that no such wrap existed, all we were left with was the desire. Fortunately, that was enough to spark inspiration, and we decided to make our own. That was six years ago--six years that have proven an interesting journey, marking our first steps toward entering an industry firmly rooted and confident in tradition. Yet, those years comprise only a fleeting moment in the history of the world's love affair with tobacco. And it is from this great history and tradition that we have drawn the inspiration for our own tobacco wraps.
Beginning with a single tobacco leaf, rough and dusted with soil from the field, we knew what we wanted to achieve--a premium flavored leaf tobacco wrap that would remain supple outside of the package, that would roll and seal effortlessly, burn evenly, deliver satisfying taste and aroma, and produce an exquisite finished cigar-ette.
We went to work with that goal in mind, blending a variety of tobaccos with our own flavor bases for perfect flavor combinations. Not all were successes, but each proved an opportunity to develop the unique flavor and aroma characteristics of our tobacco leaf.
We chose as our principal offering the Connecticut Valley broadleaf for its superior body, taste, and variety of rich colors ranging from dark chocolate to creamy coffee, and found it to blend smoothly with our select flavorings. With each successful blend we expanded our collection of signature flavoring accents, and when the two were finally combined--our premium real leaf tobacco wrap and our perfected flavorings--we followed in the footsteps of traditional tobacconists, and we let the leaf rest.
It was a wise decision that we stayed in keeping with established practices. We remained attentive to others' attempts at marketing tobacco wraps that crumbled when exposed to air or molded in their packaging. During the same time, we waited patiently. And we were delighted as days, months, and now years have passed and our wraps only continued to improve in flavor and aroma. They continue to roll effortlessly and close easily with our unique gummed edge, and to burn evenly and hold their ash, as should be expected of a premium tobacco product.
